At Cancer for College, we strive to utilize our funds in the best way possible to impact as many survivors as possible. We appreciate each and every individual, sponsor and donor that has entrusted us to realize the vision of the charity.
We understand that there are many worthy causes for everyone to support and it is our desire to be as transparent as possible when it comes to reporting our income and expenses associated with the charity.
Since inception, Cancer for College has granted over $1.75 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 cancer survivors. The charity has shifted it's focus into building a sustainable scholarship endowment fund with an ultimate goal of $10 million. All annual profit after expenses is going toward the building of this endowment fund.
In 2012, Cancer for College was able to reduce event expenses by having more venues and services donated or procured at reduced rates to previous years. In addition, a new focus was implemented in the scholarship granting process with more dollars going to building a sustainable long-term fund for scholarships. Event dollars were boosted by a partnership with 7-Eleven that realized $360,000 to the charity.
