At Cancer for College, our work is not just about scholarships; it’s about building a vibrant community fueled by compassion, resilience, and shared purpose. Voices of Strength: Mothers’ Testimonials

“There isn’t an aspect of life that cancer doesn’t affect. The emotional, physical, and financial costs of fighting pediatric cancer have been tremendous. As a family, we have been deeply touched by the generosity of others, and we are grateful for the support that Kyle has received in the form of a scholarship from Cancer for College.”

“Because of the cost of treatments, travel, and temporary relocation to another state for treatment, the costs mounted and meant we couldn’t set aside funds for college. Cancer for College has been essential in being able to afford college for Harrison. Harrison’s older brother and sister were affected by the cancer diagnosis, as well as the relapse, because of all the time we had to spend with Harrison in the hospital and in another state. A pediatric cancer diagnosis definitely affects the whole family.”

“Our daughter was diagnosed with cancer at 16. Between the bills, being out of work, driving hours to her appointments, as well as the emotional toll it took on our family, we were extremely grateful for the support we received from Cancer for College. She was not only able to graduate with her Bachelor's degree but just recently received her graduate degree in Speech Pathology in May 2022 and now works as a Speech Pathologist for children. We will forever be grateful for the support we received from Cancer for College.”

“We're so grateful to Cancer for College for their scholarship assistance. My daughter fought cancer from the ages of 9 -11 years. We were so unsure of her future. Once she turned the corner, she wanted to give back and she worked for years to raise funds for cancer research. When she decided to go to college, Cancer for College was there to help. We are so honored she was chosen as one of your scholarship recipients!”
