The Malvyna Eisner Scholarship was created in loving memory of Malvyna Eisner, grandmother of Cancer for College board member Jesse Eisner (pictured with scholarship recipients- Grayson ZrelakAndrea Ramirez-Torres & Josue Moreno).

A passionate community advocate, Malvyna believed deeply in helping others and strengthening the communities around her—and this scholarship honors that spirit by supporting students who share her commitment to service.

This award is available to Cancer for College scholars who are from Florida or attending a Florida university and pursuing degrees in fields focused on community impact, such as social work, public health, education, nonprofit management, or community development.

Through the Malvyna Eisner Scholarship, Malvyna’s legacy lives on in the next generation of change makers—scholars dedicated to lifting others up and strengthening their communities.

💙 Want to honor someone special while changing lives? You can create an Honors Scholarship in your loved one’s name and support cancer survivors pursuing their dreams.

Cancer for College has partnered with Dollar For to help survivors tackle the financial burdens that often follow a cancer diagnosis. Since launching this program in late 2023, we’ve already eliminated over $400,000 in medical debt for cancer survivors—freeing them to focus on their education, goals, and future.

The process is simple, secure, and designed to make a real impact. Survivors in need can submit their information through our portal to check for immediate eligibility.

If you are ineligible for support through their program, please contact shelby@cancerforcollege.org to explore other ways we may be able to help with your medical debt.

This program’s success depends on awareness. Every time you share it with your network, you help a survivor get relief faster. Talk about it, post it, forward it—help us make sure every eligible survivor knows this lifeline exists.

Our February Fuel a Scholar campaign was powered by something incredibly special: community. Thanks to generous supporters stepping up with monthly recurring donations,, we welcomed multiple new Fuel a Scholar partners — including two inspiring members of the Cancer for College family, scholarship alums Serena Everest and Richie Suarez.

Recurring gifts may seem small month-to-month, but they create steady, reliable funding that allows us to confidently award scholarships and plan for the future. A monthly donation isn’t just a gift — it’s a commitment to walking alongside a cancer survivor throughout their educational journey.

Serena Everest, a proud Cancer for College scholar, continues to show up for this community long after receiving her scholarship. From volunteering at events to lending her time and energy whenever needed, Serena embodies the full-circle impact of our mission — and now she’s fueling future scholars through her monthly gift.

Richie Suarez, also a Cancer for College scholar, is now making a difference professionally at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. His decision to give back as a recurring donor is a powerful reminder that when we invest in survivors, they go on to change the world — and then turn around to lift up the next generation.

This is the ripple effect of Fuel a Scholar. Steady support. Lasting impact. Survivors empowering survivors.

If you’d like to join Serena and Richie in creating dependable, life-changing scholarships, consider becoming a monthly donor today.

The Wells Fargo team from the Fallbrook Branch, led by VP Laurene Soper, has been a cornerstone of our Classy Golf Classic volunteer crew for years—and they’ve officially earned VIP status at our morning check-in!

Bright, early, and full of smiles, their can-do attitude keeps golfers moving seamlessly from arrival to first tee. Simply put, they make the magic happen before the first swing of the day.

Many companies, like Wells Fargo, offer employee volunteer programs, paid service hours, or donation matches—meaning your time can make an even bigger impact. And volunteering together is more than helpful—it’s a fun team-building experience that boosts morale, builds connections, and gives coworkers a shared purpose beyond the office.

💡 Ask your workplace about volunteer incentives and bring your team out to our next event! Email info@cancerforcollege.org to get your coworkers involved and make a real difference together.
